The Living Practice: EU@Work-Excursion to Berlin and Brussels
Based on our positive experiences in recent years, we are continuing the excursion “The Living Practice: EU@Work” with students from the Turkish-German University and the University of Cologne.
The excursion has an international and interdisciplinary focus and is designed to help students to understand the European Union (EU) and its institutions.
In this context, it provides local insights into the European work of Germany. This year's seminar is dedicated to the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the underlying negotiations in the European Council. An essential part of the seminar is a simulation game thematically related to the topic under consideration, for which the students are prepared by means of seminars and training courses so that they can present their results on the excursion in Brussels.
The program in Berlin includes visits to German institutions, think tanks and embassies.
The program in Brussels is supplemented by visits to EU institutions, embassies and museums.
These will provide an insight into the interplay between science, inter- and supranational as well as federal politics and practice.
The final program will be published here soon.
The excursion is kindly supported by Cologne Summer Schools and Kölner Gymnasial- und Stiftungsfonds as part of our PROTEUS seminar at the University of Cologne and the German Academic Exchange Service as part of our MA program at the Turkish-German University in Istanbul.
The excursion is co-organized by ILWR and CETEUS.
