Carsten Gerards, M.A.

Carsten Gerards is Personal Assistant to the Rector of the College of Europe in Bruges (BE). At the same time, he is pursuing a PhD on the external dimensions of EU education policy at Leiden University (NL).


Between April 2015 and September 2017, he worked as a teaching assistant/tutor at the Jean Monnet Chair of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wessels (later, the Cologne Center for Comparative Politics) and is – until today – involved in several projects/publications of the Centre for Turkey and European Union Studies (CETEUS).

Carsten Gerards studied Social Sciences, Philosophy and Mathematics (“First State Examination”) at the University of Cologne and completed a postgraduate diploma (Master of Arts) at the College of Europe in Natolin (PL). He spent his Erasmus semester at the University of Warwick (UK).
